I hit my weekly running goal of 21 miles (3 miles a day) at 8:30 min/mile this week! YAY!! I am so proud of myself!
-My goal for the next week is to do interval running with my 21 miles! STOKED for that!
My neighbor saw me out running and asked if I was training for a race. I laughed and said "no, I just want to run!" I have a running friend who is INCREDIBLE at running. This girl runs like 10 miles a day with 7 min/mile. We always joke that i'm the gym rat and she's the running chick. My heart doesn't yearn to run in races.. it does yearns to get outside to enjoy a run but it yearns more for weights and the stair master! ;) #gymratforever
-Sunday is my rest day but after church Crew asked to go walking so we went for a walk.. which turned into a run! ;) My muscles were yelling this morning and they were yelling at me the entire time but it just felt so good outside. I'm gonna really enjoy the taco bar at the baby shower we're going to tonight.
-Woke up at 104 lbs which isn't what I wanted so i've got some calories to eat today!! :)
HAPPY SUNDAY! Yay for football and Jesus! :)

Hey y'all! I have had some people who follow my blog ask me about my workouts so I thought this would be a great way to show you what I do but ALSO to help ME keep track of my workout goals! I battled self love and self confidence issues during high school and the start of college but I beat those when I began working out and eating healthy back in 2010. Since then i've discovered what self love really means and i've found confidence that I never want to let go of. That confidence has stuck with me throughout my pregnant and even after which really helped me feel beautiful in that season of becoming a mommy! I truly believe living healthy and working out helped me kick c-secion in the butt and get back to my pre-pregnancy body quickly. I got back to pre-pregnancy weight about 3 months after Crew arrived and since then i've enjoyed gaining muscle and keeping my body guessing with different workouts. At the beginning of the year our bible study group decided to make a goal. We had to pick something that has always been hard for us and allow God to help us achieve it! I decided to begin running because it's something i've never been good at (had to learn how to breath properly haha!) Since I began running i've dropped pounds that I did not want to see go. I've had to increase my daily calorie count so that I can keep running and lifting weights. Lifting weights burns the most calories for me but when I go and run 2-3 miles afterwards.. it makes my negative calorie count way more than my positive calorie count. Since Fall is coming up and that's my FAVORITE eating time of the year.. I think its going to really help me enjoy those foods every once in a while! ;) Okay.. so a little about my fitness routine.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday are my early workout days. I get up and do either p90x (which burns about 500 calroies) or i'll go to the gym and do my routine there (burns about 600 calories). It all depends on my mood haha. When I get home on those days I get 2-3 miles in with Crew (or because my husband is awesome ..by myself)
Tuesday and Thursdays- GYM DATE NIGHTS! :) I usually don't run on these days because my muscles are killing me BUT I do cardio in the gym to make up for that (either stairs or elliptical)
Saturday and Sunday - Saturday me and my boy enjoy a long run. Usually 3-4 miles. It doesn't sound like much but I am so proud of how far I can go and each time I get a bit faster! We get this done early so we can enjoy the rest of Saturday blowing and going. We pack our weekends during the Fall because there is SOOOO much around Dallas to do! :) After we get back we do about 20 more minutes of weight training which include (20 lunges X3) (15 squats x3) (15 burpees x3) (15 Lateral raises X3) (1 min planks with Crew on my back x3) (15 push ups x3) (15 weighted leg lifts x3) and we got up and down our stairs 5 times haha. Sunday is usually my yoga or stretch day. I love to really focus on God those days and take a nice bath with my muscle detox minerals from Perfectly Posh. If I really feel the need to do something I'll just take Crew on a slow walk through our beautiful neighborhood trail.
My goal for the rest of this year is to build more muscle! We decided that next year around this time we will begin trying for baby #2 so I want to push my body before that time. My body fat% is at 15% right now and cannot get below 10% so I will work with my trainer at the gym to keep my body in check. My neighborhood has a running club that goes and runs early in the morning. I've ran with them a few times and will try to meet with them more for the rest of the year. I will just need to switch up my schedule so after the first few weeks of Crew's school and my work get done.. i'll look into that! :)
I think it's so important to point out that God loves you exactly how you are and you are BEAUTIFUL exactly how you are. I workout because I want to be healthy and I want to set a good example for me boy. We eat very clean during the week and then on the weekends we have some food fun. Crew's favorite foods are: quinoa, tomatoes, hummus, and black beans. He also LOVES drinking water and i'm so happy he is starting his life on a healthy note. Loving yourself is so important and i'm really thankful working out with God has helped me love myself, my body, and my imperfections. Pictures from some workouts and runs below! I'll post more when I get feedback about what else you want to see on this page! Thanks for following. It's been so fun to read comments!! HAPPY SATURDAY!
Side note: I went to upload workout photos and realized I'm not good at taking photos during workouts and runs. I'm a photo taking machine but I hardly ever get my phone out at the gym or while I'm doing home workouts. I'll work on that ;)
September goals:
Running- 90 miles (3miles a day)
weights- Up my weights (currently using 5lbs or 8lbs)
weight- STAY at or above 105. I actually need to gain a pound and then stay there until muscle gains start to show on scale.
Eating- enjoy fall treats on weekends!!!!
Abs- my stomach is as flat as it's ever been. I can currently see side abs and top abs. I'm excited to see what they look like end of Sep!
