Crew Tanner Ellexson was born on November 19th, 2015 at 8:29 a.m. He weight 6lbs 5 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. I'm very partial, but I still believe he was the most beautiful just born baby I'd ever seen. His first year flew by but it was hands down the best and hardest year of my life. Y'all parenting is hard no matter who you are! If someone tells you its easy they either have 5 maids or they are lying. It's hard and it's suppose to be! Crew was such a good baby and there were still days when I thought I was going insane. That's just how it works. Those precious babes are going to teach you a lot about yourself, whether you're ready or not. I had a lot of help with this little one which made it so much easier.
My husband is a dream. I mean he literally could tell I was becoming overwhelmed before I knew I was. He was born to be a husband and a dad. I couldn't ask for better! Crew was always a really good sleeper and eater! We learned real quick that he was an overachiever. We are just not sure where he gets that from! ;) Little one was walking by 8 months and full on running by 10 months. Watching him grow has been the biggest blessing of my life. It's hard for me to be sad as he grows up because I know there are so many mother's who will never get the opportunity to watch their children grow. I decided before Crew was born I would never be sad that he was growing, only thankful. I am a working mom so I was a little worried about missing some of his "firsts." Crew knew better and made sure mama was home before performing any new milestone! I will forever be thankful for that! His first year holds so many of my favorite life moments. Way too many to fit on this page. :)
Crew is now almost 15 months old! He is so stinking smart and strong! He amazes me with how independent he is already! He knows drink, more, and thank you in sign language. His vocabulary consists of about 17 words, even though it's like pulling teeth to get him to say them. He adores working out with mommy. Squats and yoga are his favorite! He loves to run outside and kick his soccer ball. He will help you with anything you need. His favorite is helping daddy with laundry. He can use his fork and spoon, in a very messy way might I add, but loves shoving food in his mouth with his hands. He is such a sweetie and is always happy! Well, unless he is teething.. teething sucks! Other thank teething he has never been sick. My mom watches him at our house during the week (which has been the most amazing blessing to our family!!) and even through play dates, church, and bible study he has yet to get sick. Knock on wood!!
Truth note: I've always thought that the perfect little family would be a boy first and then a few years down the road a little girl. Now I'm still all about the few years down the road thing haha, but my heart really loves being a boy mom! Boys are insane but they are so fun and they sure do love their mamas!!! It's funny how you think you know what you want, and then some tiny little human comes into your life and everything you thought you knew goes out the window! He is my sunshine and constantly overflows my heart with happiness and love. We get asked a lot when another baby Ellexson is coming and the truth is that just isn't something we want right now. Of course I want Crew to be a big brother someday, but not yet. I am so in love with our family of 3 and all the memories we are making. God is good my friends and he has filled my life with everything I could ever need/want.
Our baby boy will be seen a lot on this blog, I'm kinda obsessed! 😝
